World of Warcraft celebrates its 18th anniversary

On the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the World of Warcraft, Blizzard celebrated the occasion a little earlier this year. With the release of dragonflight at the end of the month, the anniversary celebrations moved up a few days.

World of Warcraft was launched on November 23, 2004 as it aimed to build on the success of the successful strategy game warcraft 3. With eight races, nine classes, and two factions to choose from, the game set the tone for the MMORPG genre for almost two decades. Since then, the game has gone through eight expansions of content and changes dragonflight overall the ninth expansion. Even though World of Warcraft Over the years the game has seen many ups and downs, including the myriad of controversies surrounding Blizzard over the past few years, but the game is still going strong dragonflight marks the beginning of World of Warcraft‘s Third Era, ushering in a new wave of in-game storytelling and gameplay.

With the pre-expansion patch already live, things in-game are already different than before. those years World of Warcraft Jubilee was brought forward from its usual late November date. It started on November 6th and will end on November 27th, the day before the start of dragonflight. While the event is live, players can travel across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms to battle Classic-era bosses including Azuregos, the Dragons of Nightmare and Doom Lord Kazzak for a chance at lucrative loot and Timewalking Badges. These badges can be redeemed at Timewalking vendors around the world and in the Caverns of Time for fun, cosmetic items like costumes, temporary transformation items, and more.

Every anniversary, the game rewards players with an achievement and celebration package via the in-game mailbox. The box contains an 18% buff to experience and reputation points accumulated over the course of the event. The strength of the buff always matches the anniversary number, and this year’s celebration continues the pattern. This buff allows players who aren’t currently level 60 to catch up a little faster beforehand dragonflight raises the level cap to 70. But for the same reason, it doesn’t overlap with either the expansion release or the dragonflight Overall leveling experience. This gives multi-character players plenty of opportunities to catch up dragonflight and in the pre-expansion patch.

During the Jubilee, both factions will grow in their ranks. Beginning November 15, phase two of the kite flightThe pre-expansion patch begins and players can then create their own Dractyr Evoker to play and see how they made their way into the ranks of the Alliance and Horde. While the Evokers Anniversary experience buff may be a moot point, the reputation buff will remain active through November 27 for players to use as they see fit.

World of Warcraft is now available for PC. dragonflight starts on 28.11.
