When is Mei coming back to Overwatch 2?

On October 31st surveillance 2 Developer Blizzard Entertainment stated that it would disable Mei due to an exploit facilitated by her Ice Wall ability. However, this handicap is certainly not permanent, and indeed, Mei will return to the game in due course. This guide aims to detail what is known about Mei’s return surveillance 2and it will help players plan for the future.

Overwatch 2: When is Mei Coming Back?

Blizzard Entertainment claims to be targeted 15th of November for the return of Mei in surveillance 2. Specifically, this is the date when the next update of the game is scheduled to be released, which will make changes to several heroes. In particular, Sombra, Genji, Zarya, D.va, and Kiriko will all receive nerfs in the November 15 update, which should result in a more balanced roster overall.

For those players interested in learning more about the exploit that caused Mei’s temporary disablement, it revolved around using her Ice Wall to get a hero into a position near a map border, and then teleporting to that hero using Kiriko’s Swift Step . This would cause surveillance 2‘s Kiriko out of bounds in certain locations, making her impossible to be attacked by enemies. While some players feel that Kiriko is the hero that should be disabled in this situation, it’s clear that something needs to be done.

It’s worth noting that Mei isn’t the first hero to be temporarily disabled since the launch of surveillance 2. In fact, on October 10th, six days after release, both Bastion and Torbjorn were disabled in Competitive Play due to bugs in their Artiliery Fire and Overload abilities. These bugs, which made the two heroes almost impossible to deal with, have since been fixed, and Bastion and Torbjorn were reintroduced to the game on October 25th.

Blizzard was also forced to disable it surveillance 2‘s Junkertown map on October 19 “due to a bug causing graphics performance issues”. This bug focused on an object appearing in the attacker spawn that could be attacked to increase match participants’ FPS and could be used by attackers to gain a significant advantage during the initial push. As with the Bastion and Torbjorn bugs, this one was squashed, and Junkertown returned to the rotation on October 25th.

surveillance 2 is free for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
