An error in there Marvel’s Avengers shows Captain America jumping to incredible heights and covering amazing distances during one of the game’s missions. The game was originally released in 2020 and features most of the roster of heroes from the 2012 film, which included The First Avenger. It’s one of several bugs found everywhere Marvel’s Avengers.
The game’s first major hitch was that Captain America apparently died in the opening act, which in turn led to the dissolution of the titular team. Turns out the character actually survived and was later rescued by Iron Man in one of the game’s more innovative missions. Since Marvel’s Avengers was released, the character has their own skins available for purchase. This includes a gladiator-inspired outfit for Captain America, among many others from the films. However, even though the game was released over two years ago, it still has a number of bugs related to the character.
Over the years, the various bugs that have plagued The First Avenger are mostly aesthetic. A bug, for example, distorted Captain America’s face into a horrible shape, but it didn’t exactly affect the gameplay. However, a bug recently discovered by Reddit user mkpeezy1 does. A video posted by the user shows Captain America leaping to incredible heights and covering distances that dwarf the Incredible Hulk’s abilities Marvel’s Avengers.
The game’s initial launch didn’t go well for the developer or publisher. The beta for Marvel’s Avengers was listed as one of the worst ever, and the game’s glitches persist. Also, the game itself was by no means its biggest financial success. Between him and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel games could have lost Square Enix up to $200 million. However, Crystal Dynamics seems determined to continue supporting the game since it was picked up by Embracer.
Over the past year, Square Enix has released numerous skins and DLC pieces for Marvel’s Avengers. This also includes The Mighty Thor DLC, Hulk’s gladiator armor Thor: Ragnarok, and many other additions. At the moment, it’s not entirely clear how long Crystal Dynamics can continue to support the game, but as long as that support lasts, it’s likely that players will encounter more bizarre glitches like this one.
Marvel’s Avengers is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
