“My mother has stage four lung cancer,” she wrote. “I don’t know how many of you understand what that means, but even after 30 years of life, I’m still trying to process it myself. I’ve never cried so much in my life, I’ve never felt so disconnected from reality in my life.”

On Facebook, the producer of Hurricane G’s debut album paid tribute to the “really funny person” Sunday night.

“I have so many crazy stories from working with Hurricane G on their album All woman‘ wrote Domingo Padilla.

“We recorded this album at my apartment in Ozone Park Queens on a Tascam 388 and I took the whole reel machine to the 78/88 studios and offloaded the music onto 2” reels…

“Gloria was a really kindhearted, funny person, but when she was angry, she avoided her…LOL. I saw her make a famous radio personality cry in a studio and when I drove Gloria home we were arguing about why she did it and she was honest with me about what she said : “Domingo, that bitch, don’t fool me, she’s a 2 face.’”

Padilla said he’ll “miss getting on the phone with her and hearing her say, ‘Domingo, you got this funky ass fire for me, or what a motherfucker.’”

Hurricane G’s death came almost immediately after unconfirmed reports that another hip-hop artist, Artifacts rapper Tame One, the “Jersey legend,” had also passed away. A cousin of Redman, Tame also rose to fame in the 1990s but struggled to achieve commercial success.
