The newest Leave Trailer reveals the interesting creatures and locations Freya will find on her quest to rescue Athia and find her way home. From magical winged cats to terrifying, gigantic monsters, the deep dive video showcases the beauty and horror that exists in Athia.

A new Leave Deep Dive focuses on the world of Athia that Freya Holland must explore. Using her magic-based movement abilities, she will find interesting landmarks, hunt down tantas’ familiars, and explore mazes filled with fearsome beasts to unlock more of her powers and the mysteries of Athia.

Leave aims to diversify the way the player earns upgrades and stat boots through a variety of locations to find using his cuff. She will find monuments that use a certain power of the tantas that she can use to become stronger. She must cleanse these monuments of The Break in order to use her power. Some monuments have challenges called flashbacks. The Flashback Monuments are repeatable letter graded challenges to show the player how much better they can be at the challenge. The Flashback Monument featured in this video appears to be a mix of a Sprint and Battle Time Trial event that rewards Freya with mana and other upgrade stuff.

Tanta’s familiars are winged cats possessing magical abilities. They can be found at their own designated monuments. Some familiars seem friendly and approachable, others are shyer and Freya has to hunt them down. One of the familiars in the deep-dive video sped off in a red mist, revealing he may possess magical abilities like Frey’s color-based spells.

Freya can also find Fountains of Boons, sacred areas that unlock more of her abilities. Finding ancient literature in Athia will lead you to charms challenges that will increase your magical caster levels. Apparently, to complete Spellcraft Challenges, players just need to perform a certain number of parkour skills or combat moves to get the upgrades.

Freya explores underground locked labyrinths and will face dangerous enemies and a ferocious last beast that will test her strength. If you complete this challenge, Freya will receive new equipment. Freya’s downtime consists of taking photos of places around Athia with her phone and bringing them back to the village children, finding coins in chests around the world to exchange for important items, and playing a game called Partha, which grants her temporary stat boots. These stat boosts will be useful in combat challenges involving highly mutated beasts.

The variety of challenges, points of interest, and people to interact with in Athia will hopefully add meaning to this world and will help tell a rich story Leave that players can feel invested in.

Leave will be released on January 24, 2023 on PC and PS5.
