Just as Bastion and Torbjorn returned to Overwatch 2, we saw Mei get temporarily removed from the game. Turns out that’s not all for character deactivation this morning, as MultiVersus also removed LeBron James from the fighting game.
As announced last night (October 31) via MultiVersus Twitter, the NBA Champion and MultiVersus character has since been disabled due to a “critical error.” The tweet also said that the character would be reactivated once the bug was fixed. There’s no telling how long that could take.
Note to our MVPs: We will be temporarily disabling LeBron due to a critical error. It will be re-enabled shortly after the fix. Thank you and stay tuned! #MultiVersus

Why exactly was LeBron James removed from MultiVersus? Well, according to players on Twitter, who mostly share memes about the character’s removal, it’s because LeBron James’ special attack – his dunk – is designed to cause his ball to be removed from his hands. This didn’t happen, and those playing as LeBron could hit opponents anywhere on the map.
Simply put by one Twitter user, “the dunk didn’t get rid of the ball”. If you’re a MultiVersus player, that’s probably all you need to know.

As a result, LeBron James won’t be showing up in your matches anytime soon, and there’s no indication of when the character might return. However, MultiVersus just introduced Black Adam to the game, so in the meantime we at least have a new character to mess with while we eagerly await the return of LeBron James to the field.
