There is a Horizon MMO in progress with NCSoft when a new report is correct.
According to South Korean financial news agency MTN, Sony has partnered with the Guild Wars developer and publisher to develop the game.
News of the reported MMO comes from sources familiar with the matter at Sony and NCSoft, and while development has not yet begun, NCSoft currently has job offers on a game titled “Project H” (thanks, GamesRadar).
NCSoft has been the publisher and co-developer of the ArenaNet MMO Guild Wars since 2002, when it acquired the studio founded by former Blizzard employees.
Based on various job postings from Amsterdam-based developer Guerrilla Games, the game is currently believed to be a mobile MMO. That’s because last year, before the release of Horizon Forbidden West, Guerrilla was looking for people with experience in MMORPGs.
Recently, PlayStation job listings in Amsterdam cited the need for a senior producer for a mobile title, and one for a senior product manager listed the same qualifications needed for a hire. A job advertisement for a Korean translator was also published.
Currently, the only Horzion game whose development has been confirmed is Call of the Mountain, a VR game in which you take on the role of Shadow Carja Warrior Ryas.
