A Guelph man has been charged in connection with a vehicle fire that occurred east of the city earlier this year.
Investigators with the Guelph Police Service say the 47-year-old will appear in court on October 18 to stand trial on arson charges.
On March 17, rescue workers were called to a car park on Auden Road near Eastview because of a burning SUV.
They found a 2021 Ford Bronco ablaze and the vehicle was completely destroyed after the fire was put out.
An investigation revealed that the vehicle was doused in petrol before being set on fire and that the owner and suspect knew each other.
