Drake can’t stop making enemies in Her Loss, from Serena Williams to Megan Thee Stallion and Ice Spice

The list of celebrities who insult Drake on his latest album just keeps getting longer.

On Friday, the Canadian rapper released your loss, his first collaborative project with formerly secret British rapper 21 Savage. The two musicians share most of the album’s hour-long run in the spotlight, but it’s Drake’s lyrics that people are talking about today, as many of his bars continue to gnaw at his good personality.

In “Middle of the Ocean,” Drake sneaks a dig at his ex Serena Williams’ husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

“Sidebar, Serena, your husband’s a groupie,” Drake says before a moment’s pause, presumably to emphasize his point. “He claims we don’t have a problem, but no, boo, it’s like you go get sushi,” he continues, adding a bunch of other lazy references to Japanese culture.

Ohanian, who is worth an estimated $70 million, fired back at Drake in a Twitter thread promoting a story on Friday afternoon The information about his latest business ventures.

“The reason I keep winning is because I work tirelessly to be the absolute best at everything I do – including being the best groupie for my wife and daughter,” Ohanian wrote over a photo of him and his daughter Alexis watching Williams from the stands. Williams coyly responded to her husband’s tweet with a series of heart-face emojis.

Drake first began thirst for Williams on Twitter in 2011, the same year he was spotted at some of their games. He eventually named her in his 2013 track “Worst Behavior,” playfully boasting that he was so good at tennis that he “could beat Serena if she played with her left side.”

The pair were spotted sitting very close together at a Cincinnati restaurant in August 2015, hours after Williams won the Western & Southern Open in Queen City. But in a remix of The Weeknd’s “Tell Your Friends,” released the following month, Drake alluded to a one-sided breakup with the bars: “The ball’s in your court / No defense, nobody’s keeping points / No offense, but.” I’ve played this before / Maybe you can, but you just don’t care anymore.”

It’s unclear when their rumored romance fizzled, but Williams and Ohanian were engaged in December 2016 and wed the following November.

Williams and her husband aren’t the only ones who take offense at some of the lyrics your loss. Megan Thee Stallion took to Twitter for Drake on Friday after he appeared to question her claims that rapper Tory Lanez shot and killed her during an altercation in Hollywood in 2020.

On the your loss Track “Circo Loco,” raps Drake, “This bitch is lying about getting shot but she’s still a stud / She doesn’t even get the joke but she’s still smiling.”

During a preliminary hearing last year, a Los Angeles Police Department detective testified that Lanez was telling Megan to “dance, bitch” when he shot her feet. A criminal trial against Lanez has been postponed to December.

Drake’s double entender sparked an angry Twitter thread from Megan, who warned, “And when the mf facts come out, remember all your favorite hacky rappers who got behind a nigga who shot a woman.”

Interestingly, in the album’s opener, Rich Flex, 21 Savage actually references Megan’s hit single Savage – Megan is even credited as the track’s author – and raises the question of whether Drake actually meant to insult her.

Meanwhile, budding New York MC Ice Spice also seemed to take one of Drake’s lyrics personally, though she wasn’t even credited. On the your loss Track “BackOutsideBoyz,” Drake raps, “She a 10 tryna rap, it’s good on mute.”

Spice, who attracted attention in August with the song “Munch”, tweeted: “At least ima 10”, along with shrugs and laughing emojis.
